About the Role:

As the Principal Software Engineer for SVB Private Bank's Core Banking Technology team, you will have the responsibility to develop, configure and integrate technology platforms for core banking, core apps, and digital banking while working with other tech functions and business units at the bank. The role will collaborate with software engineers, system analysts, tech leads, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions in alignment with product vision and strategy.

Once Here You Will :

Be responsible for the detailed architecture, design, development, modification, testing, adaption, and implementation of software solutions that are of the highest complexity levels with multiple new system integrations. You will review business and system requirements, business processes, user stories, to design, develop, test, debug, integrate and implement software solutions. You will be working collaboratively, in a fast paced and agile environment.

  • Develop and Coordinate the design, development and integration for Core Banking Platforms and applications such as Fiserv Signature, custom development using vendor SDKs or script developments, integration via APIs, as well as Data related batch integrations
  • Analyze and translate the business requirements & functional requirements into a technical framework.
  • Work with Enterprise Architects, Solution architects to develop, document, and present the alternative design options and measure the outcome and consequences of various design selections
  • Facilitate and participate in software and system design and development with white-boarding sessions to ensure prioritized business needs of Core Banking and Digital Banking platforms are met within technical standards
  • Develop, configure, as well as provide direction for the programming and coding functions
  • Apply data analysis skills to understand detailed data flows between systems and within systems for their domain.
  • Regularly apply knowledge of future technology and system trends for the domain to solve current and future business needs.
  • Convert application data model and data mapping specifications into designs and software code.
  • Perform Unit testing as well as participate in testing releases prior to installing in production.
  • Perform application changes and configurations.
  • Manage the installation of maintenance/patches and software upgrades.
  • Develop, review, and analyze process flowchart to document and explain business processes and technical designs
  • Ensure the software developed in-house or the software product procured externally are installed in the banking premises and available for business to access
  • Manage the installation of patches and software configurations/upgrade in production as well as during the development and testing phases of the software.
  • As a system owner, own end-to-end health, and maintenance of assigned systems, including tactical vendor management.
  • Perform initial validation of the installed systems to ensure it is functioning as per the specification from Business before it is made available to test team and Business stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for working with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and produce technical specifications for any changes to technology applications. Implement the technical design into via configuration, integration, or software code development.
  • Take ownership of escalated production issues based on the severity and priority and develop the solution for the same.
  • Apply the solutions in pre-production environments so that they are timely deployed and tested.
  • Team up and collaborate with Systems Analysts, Software Engineers, Technical Lead, Quality Engineers, Business SME, and Management.
  • Have a deep understanding of both business and technical terminology and processes, to standardize systems, such configuration of Deposit and Lending products. A combination of technical and business acumen to ensure technical design and solution meets the business needs and are presented to the end users as such

Education
  • 10 + years of experience working as a software engineer and as a technical lead
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience with Fiserv suite of products

Skills Required
  • Strong technical skills for Fiserv Signature or similar core banking platforms
  • Experience with additional Fiserv applications is a huge plus (Nautilus, Card Services, Connected Teller, Communicator, PEP+ etc.)
  • Experience with any of the leading Lending and Digital banking platforms (ACI, DI, Q2 etc.) would be desirable
  • Design and Development of Relational Database components on SQL Server or Oracle
  • Ability to work in Agile environment and good understanding of tools like JIRA, Confluence, Bit-Bucket, Jenkins, and Ansible for CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS is a plus
