Requirements:
1. Minimum of Associates degree in child development/education; Bachelor’s degree preferred
2. Minimum of 3 years experience working with children with disabilities
3. Experience working in an educational or recreational setting
4. Ability to work well with others in training and supervising
5. Ability to demonstrate good observation skills, judgment and interest in learning about disabilities
6. Good verbal and written communication skills; bilingual preferred
7. Documentation of Class I Fingerprint Clearance card must be provided within 40 days
8. Must provide current certification in CPR, First Aid, Prevention & Support and Article IX within 60 days of employment
Duties:
1. Responsible to Children Services Manager or designee
2. Assist with accountability through participant matrix, individual participant books, attendance
records, etc. for participants
3. Assist in the development and implementation of schedules and opportunities for children to gain independence, self-help and social skills, make quality use of leisure time and meet their objectives in behavioral areas with emphasis on the arts.
4. Assist with behavioral and disciplinary issues
5. Assist in assuring that all contract and licensure requirements (DES/DDD, DES/Childcare Licensure, CACFP, etc.) are being met including; writing objectives, teaching plans, data collection, behavior plans and monthly, incident and physical management reporting, etc.
6. Supervising, training and evaluating counselors
7. Assist with camp surveys
8. Review end of summer camper evaluations
9. Assist with dispensing of medications after training at Arts for All
