Bring your energy and find out what’s next for you.Location: Tucson, AZPay Rate: $15.00 – 20.00 hourly payShifts: Start 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday -Friday (May have to work Saturdays during peak and advanced notice will be given for that as well.)What’s a typical day as a Greenhouse Worker?You’ll be:Support the daily requirements of the greenhouse operations and GH management team. This includes growing a variety of agricultural plants, watering, monitoring plant health and growing environment, delivery of plants using work truck, helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace, and the general support of plant-based research.
The incumbent will:Enjoy working with and learning about plants and greenhouse functions.
Perform work that is routine, repetitive, and detail oriented at 50% of the time
Provide strong customer service to the internal Biologics teams
Demonstrate Excellent organizational, observational, and communication skills
Utilize time-management skills
Follow-up on work assignments
Reliably attend work to complete daily deliverables
Be an active member of the greenhouse team
Collaborate with members of other scientific disciplines
Be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
Support many diverse greenhouse/field experiments.
Quickly learn new techniques and carry them out independently.
Follow all safety and compliance policies.
Requirements:Associate degree and/or 1 year of experience in botanical, agricultural, landscape, lawn maintenance or plant nursery environments.
Required qualifications:Must have valid driver’s license to drive company truck
Available to work 40 hours on Monday-Friday and some holidays
Minimum 1 year plus work experience
High School Diploma - Minimum educational requirement
Able to work in a greenhouse, outdoor field, or lab setting, sometimes under conditions of high heat and humidity for extended periods of time
Sit and/or stand for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Familiar with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with plants or coursework in the plant sciences.
Customer service experience.
