SUMMARY

AGM's QA Inspector / CMM Operator is responsible for ensuring that all vendor-supplied and AGM-manufactured products meet set quality standards, as well as customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Utilizes various inspection techniques to ensure conformance of all vendor-supplied and AGM-manufactured products, including proper dimensions, product performance, and mechanical characteristics.

Verifies certification of processes and material on incoming products.

Tests products for conformance at various stages during the production process, and promptly notifies appropriate department(s) to resolve identified non-conformities.

Accurately records and evaluates test data and inspection records; then utilizes findings in order to prepare reports for accepting or rejecting products per quality standards and customer requirements.

Understands and is able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, ANSI (American National Standards Institute) 14.5 dimensioning and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Follows AGM's Quality Management System processes and procedures.

Other duties may be assigned by a manager from another department, as needed.

COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this position, the incumbent must be mechanically inclined, have strong organizational skills, and have knowledge of ANSI 14.5 dimensioning and GD&T. Must be able to analyze and interpret complex technical data and clearly articulate such information to other parties. Must be able to work efficiently under minimal supervision. Must be moderately technologically literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

A minimum of an associate degree in a technical field, along with 4 years of inspection experience is required; an equivalent combination of similar education and/or work experience may be permissible. Experience working in quality assurance, a machine shop or aerospace manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

COMMUNICATION PROFICIENCY

Must be able to speak, read and write English effectively. Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data and procedures, such as engineering drawings and quality standards. Must be able to write reports, professional business correspondence, work instructions and procedures. Must have the ability to present information clearly and effectively during interactions with individuals and groups across all levels of the organization, as well as vendors and customers.

MATHEMATICAL APTITUDE

Must have the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages in practical situations.

COGNITIVE ABILITY AND REASONING

Must have the ability to think logically, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions based on the given information. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will be required to see, speak and hear, sit and/or stand, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally may need to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent will be working with moving mechanical parts and machinery. Occasionally, the incumbent may be exposed to, or come in direct contact with, potentially hazardous chemicals or materials. All employees are expected to follow the proper safety procedures associated with their work area(s). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

This position requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or status as a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
