Arivaca Boy’s Ranch is an inpatient behavioral health facility for teenage boys (13-18). The boys have various individual struggles including anger management, histories of trauma, substance abuse, attachment and mood disorders, and mental health diagnoses.
Members of our Nightwatch team are required to be examples and mentors to the boys. Although many boys sleep through the night, occasionally there will be boys who have nightmares or trouble sleeping. As such, it is important that the successful applicant feel confident in their ability to relate to young people, and are able to maintain a safe and caring environment at all times.
Shifts start at 10 pm and end at 8-9 am, 30-40 hours a week. You are required to stay awake and alert the entire time.
You will receive training in:
- Arbinger Philosophies and Practice as taught by leading experts
- Non-violent crisis intervention
- Behavioral and Mental Health Disorder Management
Applicants must be at least 21 years-of-age or older and have achieved at least a High School Diploma/ GED. Applicants must be able to pass a drug screen and fingerprint clearance check.
We are an equine therapy program, however, experience working with horses is not required for the position. You may be permitted access to be able to ride horses while not on shift if that is an area of interest for you.
