Large local wholesale and retail plant nursery and garden center is seeking an energetic, dependable retail pottery sales associate to join our growing team. You will directly assist customers with there pottery purchase, help merchandise pottery, and play a vital role in making our retail pottery experience a positive one. Top notch customer service skills are a must, as is the ability to learn product knowledge quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
JOB DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as a team to achieve sales goals.
- Welcome and greet customers as they enter the nursery.
- Help create a positive environment in which to shop and buy.
- Offer help and provide direct assistance to customers purchasing pottery.
- Attend to unique and individual shopping needs of each customer.
- Cross-sell and encourage beneficial product add-ons.
- Report anything unusual, or any major incidents, to management
- Process newly received shipments
- Maintain a clean and tidy work and retail space
- Take direction from and report to assigned supervisor
SKILLS + REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Previous retail, sales and/or hospitality experience a major plus
- Extremely personable, positive, friendly and approachable
- Ok with working weekends, and holidays
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and work primarily outdoors in diverse Arizona weather with exposure to nursery elements such as dirt, insects, water, heat and cold
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work
- Drug Free, Smoke Free, Alcohol Free environment
- Background check may be required
