Position: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Facilities & Maintenance Executive Management USA/Mexico

Relocation: Not required

Location: San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico

Summary: The Maintenance Manager shall assume overall responsibility for the maintenance of the facility buildings and grounds including a preventative maintenance program. The Maintenance Manager will manage departmental staff in a manner which will save the company money from outsourcing repair services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Knowledge of refrigeration systems; not limited to ammonia, glycol, and Freon.

2. Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) understanding and knowledgeble in Critial Control Points (CCP) within a processing facility.

3. Ensure compliance with all federal and state agencies.

4. Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.

5. Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality and verify alerting system is also functioning properly.

6. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.

7. Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (mechanics, electricians etc.)

8. Manage professional relationships with contractors and service providers.

9. Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.

10. Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.

11. Understands the dynamics of industrial machinery, including troubleshooting.

12. Accepts training for any new equipment and acts as equipment trainer / expert for all other employees of the company.

13. Attends daily manager meetings.

14. Follows budgetary guidelines, obtains approvals pertaining to parts and labor as it relates to recommendations on replace non-functioning equipment or new equipment.

15. All other duties as assigned by Director.

Education and/or Experience

Required: Bachelors degree or Trade School certification in maintenance.

Required: 5 years or more supervisory experience in facilities and Maintenance Management Repair within a produce processing plant or related manufacturer.

Preferred: 7 or more years as a supervisor in a produce processing plant.

Computer Skills

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software.

Experience and proficiency in database software such as MVP and MP2 a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities

Team player who will exceed assigned responsibilities and assist others to reach objectives

Native intellectual curiosity and mental stamina

Strong oral and written communication skills to deliver technical information in an easily understood manner across all departments

Other Qualifications

Able to travel as needed to assist various geographical areas

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to a cold (34-36 degrees F) and wet manufacturing environment, the smell of chlorine, outside weather conditions, uneven walking surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noise.
