Job Description
Compassion House is a nonprofit organization that has been transforming the lives of pregnant teens since 1981. We are currently seeking a House Mom to assist and supervise our teens in their day to day life during their stay with us at Compassion House.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidate must demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience commensurate with the duties of the position. Experience in working with teens or direct care staff preferred. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Supports the vision, mission and values of Compassion House.
-Assist with preparation of healthy menus
-Educate residents with life skills such as laundry, food choices, budgeting and appropriate conversation
-Order, log and distribute medications to residents
-Transport residents to their scheduled appointments
-Assist with all other aspects of ensuring the residents reside in a safe and structured environment while adhering to the policies and procedures of Compassion House
The schedule for this position is from 3:00am-7:00pm Monday -Friday. (20 hrs per week)
Extra hours available if needed.
Also looking for a part-time weekend staff for three weekends per month.
Must have transportation and be dependable and reliable. Conditional hire requires proof of clear driving record with three years of driving experience, annual vehicle inspection, TB test, and criminal background screen. Willing to attend paid training. Must complete all hiring requirements including paid training, CPR and First Aid certification. Bi-Lingual preferred but not required.
The ideal candidate likes a variety of work responsibilities, handles change well and can interface with all types of personalities and capabilities. Candidate must be reliable, professional, have good communication skills, have good decision making abilities and must be very good with people. Attention to detail and good paperwork skills a must.
Compensation: Wage-$10.00/hr
Weekend compensation is a generous bonus stipend.
