Job Duties:
Be knowledgeable of and responsible for the current AeroCare policies and procedures that apply to this position.
Be knowledgeable of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding.
Be familiar with medical equipment and supplies and their appropriate uses.
Be knowledgeable of Medicare, Medicaid and other insurances' rules and regulations.
Be knowledgeable about rules and regulations regarding CMN's.
Adhere to AeroCare's rules and regulations regarding compliance.
Use billing software to create and monitor claims to third party payors.
Process all appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.
Perform all assigned procedures, such as billing, working acceptance reports, working denials, resubmittals, inquiries, recertifications, agings, statements, etc. are performed in an accurate, orderly and timely manner.
Maintain patient charts in an orderly and timely manner.
Work closely with the locations to train CSR's and facilitate collection of money.
Comply with all federal, state and local regulations.
Assist AeroCare in meeting its growth and financial goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Reporting Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Billing Manager.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Prefer high school graduate or equivalent. Prefer 1 years HME/Healthcare, office work, medical billing or equivalent. Good command of the English language. Legible handwriting. Good personal hygiene and appearance. Must be able to interact well with other employees and other locations. Must be kind and empathetic with patients. Must be able to organize duties and follow up. Must be detail-oriented and be able to respond appropriately to disruptions in routine. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds frequently each day.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to handle stressful situations for short periods of time.
