Description:Become an Engineer 3 at a Major Utility Company and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will develop your skills working with the power system configuration, control system display editing tools, and gain detailed understanding of the grid operation, distribution SED field devices, and maintenance and engineering business processes. You will create device monitoring and control displays as related to Distribution Operations, Engineering and several other T&D businesses. Responsibilities:
  • Projects- Create and templatize critical functionality for implementation of the control system/SCADA application used by T&D Operations to monitor, maintain, and control the electric grid. Perform duties in the development of device control displays (Postage Stamps) utilizing GE’s FG Display Builder.
  • Maintenance- Analyze and provide recommendations to address display and device control issues as they relate to the operation. Establish standards for dataset and display convention, layout and organization. Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement enhancements and automate the generation of Postage Stamp displays, database modifications and integration of SED devices to the ADMS environment.
  • Support - Be responsible in creating and modifying Postage Stamp device views and real time single line conversions. Incorporate fixes and recommendations from T&D Operations and GMS (Grid Management System) Stakeholders.
  • Client Facing - Close coordination and collaboration with stakeholders to incorporate ideas and functions presented by T&D Grid Operations and Engineering.
  • Safety, Standard and Compliance- Ensure the Postage Stamp and single line displays used by T&D groups are maintained accurately and according to the standard as well as adhere to policies and align with safety values.
  • Decision Making Impact- Make daily decisions effecting the implementation of the Postage Stamp device control views and real time single line conversions. Meet regularly with stakeholders of the business to gather feedback and provide them with status updates. It is critical for you to be thorough, handle requests independently and conduct work in an accurate manner, due to the safety and reliability impact to the control and monitoring of the electric grid.

Required Skills:
  • Five years or more experience prior experience performing database and display work or related functions on a SCADA or Control system
  • Basic understanding of operating systems, networking, and database management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or other STEM related field) from an accredited institution
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications such as: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
