Email resumes directly to DevOps Engineer - FTE/Direct Placement - West Coast based team/RemoteAs a DevOps Engineer, you willwork with web application engineers to automate and accelerate the development, testing, release, and deployment of applications into a production environment quickly and reliably. You'll have the opportunity to create innovative solutions and leverage the latest technologies to make our diagnostics-testing better. Knowledge of the genetics and/or genetic testing industry a huge plus and a sense of humor is a must.Job Responsibilities
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
- Oversee and handle designs for Linux environment, such as administration, security patching, upgrading OS, and troubleshooting problems
- Understand, implement, and automate builds, deployments, validations, and configurations
- Work with operations team to design overall IT architecture and infrastructure
- Work with development teams to understand architectural designs and business use-cases
- Implement releases and manage Development, Test, Staging, and Production environments
- Secure applications by developing system access monitoring, profiling, control, and evaluation
- Establishing network security and disaster recovery best practices
- Perform system backups and recovery
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Computer Science (or similar relevant specialization) or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux, including scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and Ruby
- Experience with build, automation, and deployment tools, such as Jenkins, Bamboo, CodeDeploy, Elastic Beanstalk, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation
- Experience working with containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS
- Strong knowledge of messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, AWS SNS, AWS SQN
- Experience working with Apache Kafka or other data streams
- Understanding of relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL, Aurora, MongoDB, DynamoDB
- Familiarity with networking, DNS, Route 53, and AWS IAM policy management
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as New Relic, Datadog, Loggly, Splunk, etc.
- Strong project management skills
- AWS certifications are a big plus
- 1+ years of extensive experience in AWS.
- 2+ years of DevOps experience.
