Systems Operator

Job Description: The Systems Operator is primarily responsible for critical printing jobs, receiving IT equipment, inventory management, asset tagging and shipping. The Systems Operator is able to troubleshoot and solve printing related issues. Issues are escalated to the appropriate resolver groups when necessary. This individual creates and maintains documentation on supported technologies and are able to convey SOPs to team members. He /she understands all aspects of the equipment supported including how to effectively execute on standard requests for Support Tickets relating to Desktop and Laptop Hardware and Software. The Operator knows how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.

Position is in Calance s Infrastructure and Operations organization, and requires supporting nonstandard shifts and non-standard work weekends. Work hour flexibility is imperative as it may require working Monday through Friday from 4:00p.m. 12:00a.m., 3:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and some Sundays from 6:00p.m. 12:00 a.m. This position will be required to work weekends and holidays. Travel to different facilities within a 50 mile radius may be required up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities: Printing of special forms Provide Quality Assurance of special forms and bundle for pick up by courier Weekly rotation of server backup tapes IT equipment inventory management Responsible for producing high quality work during normal business hours; respond to voicemails within specified time frame Resolves everyday service requests relating to PC, server, and network hardware and software problems and malfunctions Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely technology support and problem resolution to internal and external customers Work effectively with other employees and departments throughout company to assist in delivering quality service Assist in identifying process and procedure improvements Continuously strive to improve client service support; identify opportunities, and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications High school diploma in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience and 2 years of relevant experience Able to align and print special forms Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems including Windows Operating Systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10 Knowledge of Office Suite of Products, primary focus on Outlook, Excel and Word Knowledge of Active Directory Management Tools Basic Windows Server Knowledge Basic Network Knowledge Ideal candidate must be able to grasp a wide range of unique skills, able to think and respond quickly to real-time problems Good troubleshooting skills Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment Knowledge of helpdesk operations; excellent writing and oral communication skills Must be: An effective communicator and be able to coordinate network and customer related problems with other technical sections Outgoing and an independent worker with a pleasant personality and a positive can-do attitude Must have strong multi-tasking skills Experience with Intilitech, IBM Printronix and IBM 6500 Printers Experience with Dell PowerVault or similar tape devices Scripting: Perl, Python, PowerShell, Windows Batch scripting Ability to observe conditions and recognize when an issue needs escalated to other staff 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or technical environment with significant PC or client/server platform experience

Desired Qualifications Bachelor s degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience, plus two years of progressively responsible experience Comp TIA A+ certification Experience in Job scheduling solutions preferably CA Workload Experience in monitoring solutions preferably Nagios and SolarWind Experience in backup technologies (CA ARCserve and Veeam) Experience with Intilitech, IBM Printronix and IBM 6500 Printers Experience with Dell PowerVault or similar tape devices Ability to observe conditions and recognize when an issue needs escalated to other staff Able to align and print special forms Experience with CISCO, Juniper and other commodity networking devices Experience working in a Data Center environment: racking & stacking equipment, cable management Experience in supporting WAN & LAN connectivity, telecommunications (VoIP) or internet technology Experience in performing traceroutes, executing ping test and a strong working knowledge in Microsoft and Linux Industry standard certifications (CCNA, Network+, CCNP or JNCIA are a strong plus) Scripting: Perl, Python, PowerShell, Windows Batch scriptin
