Payload & Ground systems Software Engineering in Azusa, California is seeking a Sr. Principal (Level 4) Computer Systems Architect Engineer to support development and operations of network/computer infrastructure for the Data Exploitation business area, which supports both domestic and international sites. This is a technical leadership role requiring the ability to manage a portfolio of projects, and the ability to work with a diverse user community. This role will report on-site daily to our Azusa, CA campus.

Desired skills include system architecture, project management, cyber security, and network/system administration. Tasks include supporting existing labs and building/extending new, multi-site labs for DoD programs. Approximately 25% travel is anticipated.

Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Chief Architect, the Computer Systems Architect ensures that the portfolio of software development projects within Data Exploitation has the network, computer and other resources required to meet program objectives. Key duties include:
  • Design and define platform architecture for new and existing complex computer systems.
  • Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security.
  • Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers to ensure developed products can support multiple hardware baselines/configurations.
  • Oversee hardware and software acquisition, integration, installation, and upgrades.
  • Oversee system problem investigation and resolution. Develop and recommend corrective actions.
  • Define, manage and status infrastructure projects to achieve product development objectives.
  • Liaise with external customers and partners, and internal development teams.
  • Participate in change management boards and integration boards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field & 9+ years of related technical engineering experience, OR a master's degree in a STEM field & 7+ years of related technical engineering experience, OR a PhD in a STEM field & 4 years of related technical engineering experience
  • CISSP or equivalent cyber certification
  • Cybersecurity domain knowledge, including strategies and mechanisms
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience
  • Experience with Windows and Linux systems architecture
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and firewalls
  • Active & current TS/SCI Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • System Administration experience (Linux, Windows, NetApp, LDAP, Active Directory, etc.)
  • Network Administration experience (LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls, cryptos, etc.)
  • Project Management experience (PMP certification a plus)
  • Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Familiarity with DevOps process framework
  • Familiarity with Storage, Networking and Virtualization technologies

Salary Range: $129,700 USD - $194,500 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
