Apex Bulk commodities, The largest bulk carrier in the west is looking for a dynamic person to join our team and support our drivers and customers at our Bakersfield terminal as a Division Manager.

Qualifications:

Ability to manage or assist with the management of the business units within

our company. Communicate with customers and drivers, scheduling loads, managing

compliance with company and agency policies, preparing and filing reports.

Essential Duties:

Duties will include, but not limited to the following:

Managing equipment, people, customers, performing data entry, managing a

portion of our safety program, etc.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Contact customers on a routine basis to ascertain the level of high-quality customer

service.

Schedule properly to ensure all carrier managed inventories stay in the green.

Take, build and plan all orders received.

Manage and respond to all customer complaints. Inform Fleet Manager of any and

all service failures upon occurrence.

Advise Fleet Manager and Sales Department of delays, scheduling problems and late

loads.

Advise customers of delays, scheduling problems/late loads.

Manage the scheduling of drivers to maximize utilization and distribute work equally

per company policy.

Manage your AOR's performance to meet the established driver retention goals.

Report to Director of Operations weekly updates and weekly goal reports.

Manage your AOR's performance to meet the established revenue goals.

Establish and maintain Driver-Truck profiles.

Communicate with Driver Manager regarding performance and reviews.

Responsible for scheduling driver's time off and to appropriately cover schedules.

Accountable and participating in divisional meetings.

Other operational duties as assigned or directed by your supervisor.

Complete communication with drivers to include People Net, telephone, written,

and verbal means.

First contact for customers and vendors to include taking and inputting standard

customer orders.

Promote and maintain Safety at ALL times - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Other Duties as Required:

Got Safety Program - Assist in the completion of Got Safety Interviews

Tractor Movement - Review your division tractor movement report. Provide input and suggestions to improve the profitability of the division. Maximize equipment utilization.

Fuel Performance Audits - Assist in identifying low performing tractors.

Equipment Inspections - Ensure that your terminal conducts a minimum of ten internal Equipment (BIT) inspections. Ensure that each out of service is forwarded to the shop foreman for repair, red tag and report all inspection findings on your daily voicemail.

Schedule service of all assigned tractors and trailers within company and DOT requirements.

Equipment Transfers- submit all equipment transfer request to Fleet Manager.

Trailer inspections- ensure that your division is complying with any special needs trailers inspections criteria (Westpac/Dual Commodity) trailer inspections.

Driver Needs - submitted weekly to your Fleet Manager.

Field Audit Request- Submit Field audits for all follow up on CER alerts, motorist complaints, excessive standby, new customer, qualifications.

Qualifications- Maintain knowledge of what customers require special qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

Will be required to sit for long periods

Will be required to lift to 50lbs

Must be able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays as needed or required

Can communicate with subordinates clearly and in a professional manner

Will be required to perform general office task (i.e. - copy, filing, scanning, etc.)

Certificate Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access and Excel.
