Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Administrator and/or Supervisor

Status: Full Time Position

Job Summary: Demonstrate knowledge of necessary trade skills including but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, and drywall repair. Knowledge of tools and equipment to perform required trade skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform building maintenance/repairs in a manner most effective and beneficial to owners, while maintaining a safe and operational living atmosphere for all staff members and guests.

Repair and enhance our community. Youll be responsible for repairing and maintaining all plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and painting needs.

Build rapport. You'll make positive connections with customers by offering a smile and a greeting when you see them and chatting as you make repairs.

Respond to service requests. Youll launch into action when maintenance issues arise, collaborating with teammates and prioritizing service requests to earn trust and build resident satisfaction.

Know the make-ready schedule. Youll monitor apartment vacancies daily and initiate the turnover process with painting, cleaning and repairing.

Tend to preventive maintenance. Youll safeguard equipment with regular tune-ups, helping equipment last longer and minimizing costly repairs.

Notice the details. Youll walk the property units daily, inspecting all areas for cleanliness and safety, and helping to maintain great curb appeal.

Tracking of Maintenance Requests: You will keep a log of maintenance requests for each unit, and costs of repairs to each units.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess proven experience in program management, provision of direct services to diverse populations, and knowledge of community resources and entitlement programs.

Strong assessment and documentation skills as well as the ability to make independent decisions are required.

Must demonstrate the ability to work along with and supervise others.

Valid Class C or B drivers license.

Candidates will also be required to undergo criminal background checks and TB skin tests, as well as pre-employment and random drug screens.

Preferred Candidates for Maintenance will have a minimum of 1 year maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Prior knowledge of and experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and/or related areas required, welding

Ability to work flexible hours which may include late night (if emergency occurs)

Ability to lead others.

Ability to manage others virtually.

Ability to read, write and speak English with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
