Job title: Kafka DevOps Engineer Location: Bay Area (Remote ) Working hours - PST Timings Role Kafka DevOps Engineer Job Description Summary In this remote DevOps Engineer role, you will work as part of an Agile team to design, test, deliver and support highly scalable and high performing technical solutions. The initial focus will be supporting Confluent Platform Kafka clusters. The role will include building Kafka as a Service, including full-stack development from backend to frontend. Job Description
- Work in rotation with other engineers to support existing test and production Confluent Kafka Platform (Brokers, Schema Registry, Zookeeper, KSQL) in Azure Cloud.
- Migrate Kafka Platform from Linux VMs to containers using Kubernetes and Container Registry.
- Develop APIs and Micro-Services to improve the platform and user experience, using technologies like Java or Java Spring Boot.
- Modernize existing enterprise platforms using DevOps "As A Service" methodology.
- Develop User Interfaces to frond end "As A Service" products using technologies like -AngularJS, NodeJS or ReactJS.
- Create necessary CI/CD pipelines to support automated code deployment for frontend, backend, and micro-services.
- Create monitoring solutions and provide support for code and products developed or owned by the team.
- 3+ years' experience administering Kafka clusters. Experience with Confluent Platform a plus.
- 3+ years' experience working with CI/CD or developing User Interfaces.
- Following additional skills would be a desirable - Ansible, Kubernetes, Helm, Unix, Bash, Python, JMX Metrics, Jenkins, Azure Cloud, Relational DBs and SQL.
- Software Development experience and knowledge of the Software Delivery Lifecycle, Monitoring, and Security Compliance.
