Position Overview:Assists the Director of Patient Relations in assessing and resolving patients’ concerns by meeting with patients or listening to issues on the phone, investigating allegations, writing response letters for resolution, and in other ways meeting patient needs. The Patient Relations Assistant responds to requests for information, assists in preparing, compiling and analyzing data for patient satisfaction reports and making arrangements for appointments and meetings.Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalent, AA or Bachelors degree preferred. Three years of related office, customer service and data analysis experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Accurate grammar, spelling & punctuation skills and formal letter writing skills. Must be proficient in the use of 2007 Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access for letter writing, reports, data management and presentation preparation. Must have: excellent listening skills, verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; excellent phone skills; interviewing skills; exceptional organization and prioritization skills, critical thinking and problem- solving skills.
