DescriptionRobert Half Finance is looking for an accomplished, motivated Staff Accountant for a full-time position within a prestigious Service company. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Requirements
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Proficiency in month end closings
Command of financial auditing
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Solid understanding of journal entries
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
