Our Direct client is looking for a Solution Architect for a 3 month contract to start in Carlsbad, CA 92008. This is a Hybrid position. about 3 days a week onsite. This is the help with the first phase of the project (requirement gathering and RFP) with potentially an extension to support the full implementation of the solution.
Position Summary: The MES Solution Architect is responsible for supporting selection process for the implementation of Client's key strategic investment in a new global MES solution in Information technology. The MES Solution Architect will provide guidance and support in selecting and implementing the global MES solution across several entities of the company. Position reports to Senior Manager, Manufacturing area Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:- Supporting Senior Manager and business team in requirements gathering, writing RFP and setting up a solid selection process to determine best solution and best vendors
- Responsible for meeting with all stakeholders, including business owners and users and IT teams to understand requirements
- Clear understanding of business requirements and corresponding MES required functionalities
- Able to map business requirements into solutions covered or not covered by potential MES solutions
- Articulates benefits of the application of information technology to key business management and users
- Assists in negotiating contracts, support agreements, and other arrangements as it relates to IT applications
- Works closely with IT infrastructure, Support Center, and Development groups in support of and delivery of information technology applications
- Stays abreast of latest technology and regularly reviews potential paths of change with IT management
- Follows, practices, and champions ITIL standards and processes within his/her team
- Minimum 8 years experience in IT related field
- Minimum education: 4 year college degree (preferably in a technical field)
- Strong business acumen in manufacturing area
- Very strong experience in one or several MES solutions
- Strong expertise and knowledge in software selection process and vendor management
- Experience with Oracle Applications and technologies is a plus :
- EBS Supply Chain module
- Planning Modules - PCCS
- Strong project management experience is a plus
- Excellent teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Fully understands systems development life cycle
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and resources simultaneously
- Experience or training in ITIL preferred
