OverviewDignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care Hip- and Knee- Replacement.ResponsibilitiesMercy San Juan’s Family Birth Place is the level 3 within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals. Our Family Birth Center is Joint Commission Certified for Perinatal Care and we follow the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. FBC consists of a 12 bed labor unit 2 OR’s a 14 bed private postpartum unit a PACU and 2 triage bays. We average 100-120 deliveries a month and the department is supported by 8 Nurse Shift Managers a Perinatal Safety Nurse and a Perinatal Nurse Educator.The incumbent is a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. QualificationsThis is a 22 week Family Birth Center New Grad Training Position
Recent Graduate of an accredited nursing school program (within last 12 months)
NO previous RN experience
Family Birth Center Rotation/Preceptorship during last semester of nursing school
Current CA RN license
Current AHA BLS and ACLS
NRP within 3 months of hire
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire
Advanced Fetal Monitoring course completion is required within 12 months of hire.
