Job Description:The PC and general hardware support technician will provide comprehensive computer hardware and infrastructure support client. Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Resolving service desk tickets
  • Direct customer support and on-going technology maintenance for the business environment.
  • The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to effectively and consistently communicate directly with customers and peers.
Requirements:
  • Installs, maintains and supports all the field IT systems.
  • Includes desktop and laptop computer hardware, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and configuration, software installation, network and stand-alone printers, remote access, audio visual equipment, mobile devices support, Cisco telephones, radios, server computer hardware.
    • Ability to work independently and manage priorities and time.
    • Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively.
    • Confidence in technical skills and ability to apply them.
    • Team player who will do what it takes to get the job done.
Additional INFO:
  • Ownership of Desktop Services fulfillment & Problem tracking, management, and resolution.
  • Coordination and/or implementation of hardware and software; ensuring application of corporate standards.
  • Ensure desktop inventory & Software license compliance.
  • 24/7 manufacturing location. The candidate must be available as called upon to perform duties during off-hours on occasion as needed. Support of these 24/7 Systems may require applicant to be available to respond on-site within 90 minutes should problems arise.
  • Activities may also include device backups, anti-virus protection support & response, performance tuning, security additions/changes/removals, security policy management, data access controls, configuration/patch management, risk management documentation, change control administration, Cisco voice system support, conference room and office AV support, database administration, and self-auditing to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Interactions with business partners during development, support, and implementation of in-house & 3rd party systems.
  • Solid written and verbal skills, including basic project management skills. Participate on Refining ITS BLAN teams for implementing Refining-wide IT strategic initiatives. Providing subject matter expertise/consulting services.
  • Perform server administration primarily on Windows Server/Workstation OS devices.
  • Windows 2008/2012 Server OS experience is beneficial.
  • MCP training and/or certifications beneficial.
  • Experience with Remedy Ticketing system beneficial.
  • Compliance and Log Monitoring experience is preferred.
