Purpose and Key Results of the Position

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization through financial reporting, analysis, and modeling. This role provides strong career development through exposure to many aspects of the business, and includes creative problem solving, ad-hoc analysis, and providing inputs to the overall financial picture of the company. This role also supports cross-functional business partners, such as Agriculture, Farming Operations, Innovation, Manufacturing, Sales, and Supply Chain.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Finance Analysis

Provide insightful financial analysis to cross-functional business partners. This may include models or analyses of labor costing, activity costing, commodity pricing, inventory valuation, inventory risk, product pricing strategies, and related support.

Assist with budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes by executing assigned responsibilities. This may include coordinating sales forecasting, manufacturing labor models, or department budgeting.

Create and maintain reports for the Leadership Team, including sales performance, product costing, profitability, inventory levels, and company financial statements.

Create and maintain reports for cross-functional business partners such as Agriculture, Farming Operations, Innovation, Manufacturing, Sales, and Supply Chain. Work with business partners to assess their needs and provide solutions.

Execute monthly closing activities as assigned.

Support the innovation process by representing Finance on various project teams.

Safety

Adheres to safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for fellow employees within the regulations of all OSHA local, state and federal regulations.

Complete necessary trainings to ensure all Lundberg certifications required for role are maintained as current. Certifications may include, but are not limited to, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Back Safety, Forklift, Arc Flash, Confined Space, etc.

Other

Performs other assignments from time to time as requested by the Financial Analysis Manager to achieve department and company business goals.

Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Lundberg Family Farms Attendance and Punctuality standards.

Complete training required for position and maintain applicable certifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Strong analytical skills. Ability to organize incomplete or unorganized information, present the key findings, and provide crucial information to influence decisions.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

General knowledge of finance and accounting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with consumer products, pricing strategies, manufacturing, and inventory management is beneficial.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products along with advanced to expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and managers at all times.

Work well under pressure in order to meet multiple, and sometimes, competing deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

2 or more years of finance or business analytics experience.

Previous experience with product costing experience (absorbed and applied costing methods) or product pricing and promotion strategies beneficial.

Preferred

Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau.

MBA completed or in process.

CMA, CPA, or other professional designation.

Work Environment

Work area is in an inside office environment with moderate temperatures and low background noise. Occasionally work in other departments in their work environment.

Physical Requirements for Performing Essential Duties

Sitting/Standing/Walking: Approximately 90% of the time is spent sitting at a desk with the remaining time spent walking around in other departments.

Speaking/Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.

Vision: Ability to effectively interpret information on a computer screen for extended lengths in time and printed materials.

Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and hold up to 25 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive motion.

Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to stoop and/or kneel to access equipment when needed.

Reaching/Handling: Ability to retrieve and work with appropriate equipment and supplies.
