The Farm work / basic mechanic role is to support the orchards by performing mowing, brush removal, leaf blowing, brush burning, etc. and to conduct basic work like troubleshooting, cleaning equipment, completing basic repairs, doing basic preventive maintenance to field equipment, grounds, buildings and vehicles as needed.
Complete paper work and maintain maintenance records.
This is a part time position working 25 hours/week minimum, but depending on the amount of farm work required, the incumbent could work 40+ hours as needed.
Job Description:
1. Operate tractors and forklifts as needed to perform mowing work, brush and trash removal, leaf blowing,
wood burning and other miscellaneous work in the orchards.
2. Sporadically provides basic repairs to buildings, grounds, offices, field equipment and conduct basic
maintenance as required.
3. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts hand and use power tools.
4. Prepares vehicles for travel and perform scheduled maintenance and clean up.
5. Performs basic mechanical work including troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
6. As needed, check equipment manuals or other documents to perform required maintenance and service.
7. Lubricates, cleans parts, cleans and organizes the garage / warehouse disposing or recycling non usable parts.
8. Conforms to all safety regulations and practices.
9. Comply with safety and health rules.
10. Provides maintenance and repair of basic plumbing and irrigation systems.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
12. Works under minimum supervision.
Minimum 2 years of experience.
