As a Crisis Specialist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within Colusa County Emergency Departments. You will conduct mental health assessments, provide linkage to community resources, and coordinate between various systems. You will use clinical principles, training, and communication strategies to promote safety and recovery across a continuum of care.

Crisis Specialist Responsibilities:

The Crisis Specialist is responsible for providing after hours crisis support services, both on uncontrolled standby and on-site (nights & weekends), in Colusa County, by performing mental health assessments and 5150 evaluations, providing short-term, stabilizing counseling and/or referral and linkage to community resources, and follow-up.

In addition, the Crisis Support Worker provides crisis intervention for individuals who are in distress, completes admissions to an appropriate mental health inpatient unit, including completing forms with clients who are to receive ongoing mental health services, and assists mental health clients in obtaining social and other human services by communicating directly and effectively with hospital staff and psychiatrist(s).

The Crisis Support Worker effectively participates in staff meetings, in-service training, new employee orientations and inter-agency coordination activities.

Minimum Education Required:

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited university with a master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field; a professional license (or license eligibility) recognized by the State of California in the appropriate field of practice is ideal but not necessary.

Experience:

The successful candidate must possess at least one (1) year experience in provision of crisis support services, and a sound grasp of the principles of crisis evaluation and clinical interviewing, with a demonstrated ability to facilitate communication between/among multiple entities and 5150 Certification completed in Placer County.

Job Type:

” $75 - $230 per shift!

Additional shifts needing coverage include: weekend days, nights, and weekend overnights.
