Reptile Care Attendant I

We are one of the largest indoor reptile farms in the U.S. We have a Full-time, entry level position, available for the care of Reptiles. You will be working with over 20+ reptile enthusiasts in a large custom built facility located at the Chico Airport.

With a new semester coming up, the hours of our part time employees have changed.

We find that we have need of additional Reptile Care Attendants to work at our breeding facility in Chico, CA.

All of our part time positions have been filled, so this is a full time position , no experience required.

The job involves the feeding and care of lizards, and the culture of the insects which they eat.

The duties include the preparation of food, the feeding of live insects, cleaning cages, cleaning water bowls, etc.

Biology & some knowledge of reptiles a plus, but not required.

We are seeking individuals, to join our team, who like REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS & who will add value to our team by possessing the following qualities:

-a CLEAN FANATIC , hard worker, able to lift 50 lbs

-able to work in hot, tropical, and humid environments (90 F 30% humidity)

-a self starter, independent , takes initiative and works well with others

-ability to do small handy man/woman jobs

-have a positive "do whatever it takes attitude"-

-quick learner, takes direction well and follows through to completion

-observant, organized and attention to detail

-strong work ethic, able to commit to the schedule as outlined

-available to work holidays (9 am to 2 pm) ( live animals need care, even on Holidays)

-Most importantly, the job requires you to have a respect and dedication towards animals.

Previous experience with animals is not required, as long as you are comfortable working with them and willing to learn. However, a background with animal care or biology is beneficial.

If hired, you would be responsible for the daily care of reptiles and the monitoring of their health and activities.

All positions start at minimum wage, with evaluation after successful completion of training and 90 day probation.

Pay increases and promotions are available with increased skill level and work experience.

Full-time employees, after 6 months satisfactory employment, qualify for health benefits and sick days.
