SummaryThe Patient Transporter assists with mobilizing patients using lift equipment and/or mobilization aids and other trained health care professionals to provide safe and effective patient transports throughout the facility. Patient Transporters transport equipment, supplies, specimens, and patients using the transport tracking system; ensuring that the patients are monitored and the environmental pathway is safe for travel. Knowledge of proper body mechanics for safe transfer of patient and self.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the AHA (American Heart Association)
The ability to perform CPR.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
One-year hospital experience or similar experience; working knowledge of medical terminology; and the ability to effectively communicate in a demanding environment.
