The position reports to the Supervisor of Building Attendants.Essentials FunctionsThe incumbent performs these essential duties and responsibilities.Clean and disinfect a variety of surfacesScrub and refinish floors and carpetsOperate mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and carpet cleaning equipmentSet-up and breakdown furniture for meetings and special eventsActivates and deactivates alarm systemsRequest cleaning supplies and maintains supply closets and cartsRequired Qualifications:The following qualifications must be met in order to meet the requirements:1 year experience in custodial /building maintenance assignmentsAbility to climb ladders up to 20 feet and able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in EnglishRequires a valid license and driving record acceptable to CUC insurance carrierHigh School Graduation or equivalentRequired Knowledge and Critical Skills:This position must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job or must be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed (with or without reasonable accommodation) using other knowledge, skills and abilities not listed below:Must possess knowledge of maintenance, use, safe, operation, and repairof cleaning supplies, tools and equipment. Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals. Must have knowledge of safe working methods and procedures.Requires ability to learn proper use of Fire ExtinguishersMust be able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, stoop, twist, stretch, lift up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level without resistance, climb ladders up to ten feet unassisted and up to twenty feet unassisted, and be able to work on feet for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to effectively and efficiently clean and maintain an assigned area within a predetermined time schedule.Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.Must have ability to work well without continuous supervision.Must wear uniforms and safety equipment as required.Required Hours:The regular hours for this full time position are 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday - Sunday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required.
