Once you submit your application, you will not be able to attach additional documents.Job Description:The Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer for The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) works as part of a team that provides networking services to the institutions of The Claremont Colleges (TCC), which is a key strategic initiative for the organization. The person in this role will have an opportunity to engage, build relationships and benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the internal TCC IT team and staff in the IT departments on the seven TCC campuses. The level of service that TCC IT provides to each campus varies and therefore, the successful Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer will use the many resources available to identify and implement solutions to meet the different needs of each campus.TCC IT promotes the ongoing professional development of its staff members. The person in this role will have an opportunity to gain certifications, recertification, attend training and utilize other web-based development offerings. The size of the IT organization also gives the Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer regular exposure to systems, telephony, outside cable plant and other technologies under the infrastructure umbrella. TCC IT is a member of the Los Nettos Regional Network (http://https://www.losnettos.net/) and the Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer will be a member of the team serving as a contributor to this collaboration.The individual selected for the role will be placed as either a Sr. Network Administrator or a Network Engineer depending on experience and accomplishments related to key performance objectives outlined below.Overview:

The Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer is responsible for coordinating and enhancing the Network Services provided by TCC IT for The Claremont Colleges. The Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer works in conjunction with various teams to plan, develop, coordinate and execute a comprehensive network infrastructure for The Claremont Colleges that also supports its telecommunications systems. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining wireless, Ethernet, and VoIP infrastructures, performing cost benefit analysis, optimizing and enhancing telecommunications and network facilities, and supporting system users’ needs and priorities. This position has leadership responsibilities for related projects and services. Sr. Network Administrator/Network Engineer is creative, flexible, highly-proactive, and a strong innovator, capable of contributing in various projects that cross departmental and operational boundaries. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure Services who reports to the Chief Information Officer.Performance Objectives:Prioritize communication, responsiveness, and time to resolution: Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise in day-to-day operations. Coordinate internal, external and other support needed to bring issues to a resolution. Communicate clearly and timely with appropriate stakeholders.Contribute to a Collaborative Work Environment: Actively seek opportunities to share and engage the knowledge and expertise of others on the team. Willingly share information others want or need to know in order to do their work. Contribute to a positive team environment.Develop Organizational Cultural Awareness: Develop an understanding and appreciation for the cultural and political environments of the TCC institutions and how they work both together and independently. Anticipate where potential challenges and opportunities may be and plan accordingly, shift gears as necessary and be comfortable with uncertainty.Build relationships: Build and maintain constructive relationships and partnerships with stakeholders within the TCC community. Build appropriate rapport with people from different backgrounds and in various roles across the consortium.Evaluate TCC systems and software: In collaboration with the infrastructure team and other stakeholders, work toward finding opportunities to standardize systems, configurations, software, etc. Proactively assess and analyze our infrastructure to meet, remediate or enhance operations.Perform complex network configuration and installations:Manage, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network routing, and/or switching, and/or security devices (such as firewalls, VPNs). Delegate complex network equipment configuration and installations as appropriate.Partner with Los Nettos Regional Network: Become familiar with the services provided by Los Nettos Regional Network in order to leverage those resources to meet the needs of the campuses. Partner with Los Nettos in supporting the private regional network.Required Hours: The regular hours for this full time position are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday–Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required.
