DescriptionAccountemps is looking for an experienced, organized individual to take on the short-term temporary role of Staff Accountant at a growing, dynamic company in the Non-Profit industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Requirements
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Deep understanding of Abila MIP
Bank reconciliations experience preferred
Adeptness in system conversion and implementation
Experience with non-profit fund accounting
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
