Volt is seeking a CNC Swiss Set-up Operator in Riverside County, CA.

We currently have an 6 month plus opportunity for an experienced CNC Swiss Set-up / Operator to join our manufacturing team. We have many different types of machines on our floor. Citizen Swiss Screw Machines, Lathes, Mill Turn, & Horizontal and vertical milling machines. You will be responsible for the set-up and or operation of the machines required for the production of precision, close-tolerance, machined parts.

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company that produces precision machined parts and assemblies for the world’s leading Industrial and Aerospace manufacturers. Their customers include major industrial manufacturers, and a range of other aerospace suppliers. We are IS09001:2008 and AS9100 Rev. Responsibilities of this position will include the following:

Set-up and operation of equipment involved with the production of close-tolerance machined parts.

  • Transferring programs to Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and other machine controls.
  • Assisting Production department with the initial set-up and run of CNC equipment.
  • Working with the inspection department during the first article approvals for each production lot.
  • Assisting with the inspection of in-process and completed parts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience with operating CNC equipment, with 2 years of setup experience.
  • Ability to set-up and operate Citizen Swiss type lathes - A20, A32, L20, & L32’s.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings. Familiarity with Partmaker a plus.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments to inspect parts pursuant to First Article, and In Process inspection criteria.
  • Ability to adjust offsets, and make minor changes in feeds, speeds and toolpaths at the machine in order to bring the part into specification and optimize the production process.
