- Application DBA: focused on utilization of the platform for specific application purposes. Database/schema organization, data partition/sharding, index management/utilization, object naming standard and best practices, query plan and profiling optimization.
- Extensive experience with deploying, managing, and optimizing the operation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 – 2019, including tuning for optimal memory and CPU usage, specifically in a virtualized (VMWare) environment
- Deep understanding of optimizing SQL Server on Windows Server, including optimizing network and storage/SAN configuration
- Experience with AlwaysOn and its potential impacts on database performance
- Ability to review and troubleshoot slow-running queries, review execution plans, and suggest query and indexing changes
- Experience with converting multi-statement functions and stored procedures to single-statement/inline functions
- Experience with tuning client drivers (ADO.NET, Microsoft.Data.Sql, ODBC) for optimal performance
- Experience with optimizing LinQ-to-SQL, Entity Framework, and Entity Framework Core – generated queries
