Performs the duties of laboratory receptionist when needed. Maintains a clean and neat work area. Prepares, distributes, reviews and files results of laboratory testing. Replaces used supplies as necessary from laboratory stock. Maintains accurate files of lab reports and records. Ability to follow oral and written instructions of a technical nature.Qualifications:Certifications: CA-CPT 1, BLSHigh school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experienceAA/AS degree desiredCollege cousework in Biological sciences is desidredThe employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior and this information should be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. Knowledge in sterile technique and standard precautions. Medical terminology, computer skills, typing, customer service skills, and telephone skills. Must have strong oral communication.The Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT 1) has daily contact with patients, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel and doctors. Needs to work well under the supervision of a supervisor. This position must maintain open and positive communications with fellow employees, nursing, doctors, and supervisor. Be highly motivated.
