Lab Manager for Global Consumer Device Company in Cupertino, CA (100% onsite)
Summary You will join a team that is multi-disciplinary and focused on metrology research and development. You are a Lab Manager with a solid background handling labs, logistics, inventories and third party vendors interactions. Candidate must be a high-energy tactical execution expert and a team player, with a friendly can-do attitude. You can draw from experience covering a wide scope of lab work and are dynamic to change projects between platforms. You should be highly organized with strong analytical capabilities and communication/customer service skills, independently motivated, a resourceful individual with the ability to prioritize and excel in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Top 3 important responsibilities are:- Station equipment preparation and setup (instruments, cables, fixtures, station SW install, network setup, etc.)
- Manage lab layout, set up and infrastructure maintenance according to projects schedule and space requirements
- Coordinate shipment tracking and maintenance of the equipment of each station
- Organize, audit, and manage a lab equipment assets, HW prototypes, supplies and tools to ensure high productivity for multiple engineering teams. Manage ticketing system for customer requests, for example, helping with parts inbound / outbound, general logistics and operations of the lab, making sure facilities up to par, completing service repairs for AC, compressed air, electricity, data outages, etc.
- Manage third party vendor access accounts and security protocols
- Enforce lab safety and compliance policies
- Document & implement guidelines and necessary reports to create standards to enable engineers and third parties to follow lab best practices
- Develop best strategies to coordinate and minimize manual work
- When required be able to perform hands-on, first level triage on technical issues (debug station setup, swap device/SW versions, troubleshoot data connection issues, analyze logs, etc.)
- Mechanical Engineering background
- Basic troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of tools and how to use them
- Familiarity with proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices
- Hands-on experience with electronic product assembly, disassembly, prototype work and handling of sensitive material. Tracking equipment
- Adaptability: covering a wide scope of work and changing projects between platforms
- Time management skills, prioritize competing tasks, etiquette
