Our direct client, fortune 500 client, is looking to hire an IT Asset Manager I for a full-time direct hire position in Cypress, CA This role is a Hybrid - Partial Onsite, Partial Remote.

It's a partial work-from-home, but some office time is required because the role is responsible for managing our loaner and training pool of equipment.

The IT Asset Manager I is responsible for managing IT assets including software, software subscriptions, hardware and leases in support of all the Clients divisions, which represents approximately 3,000 users. This position is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of asset data within ServiceNow and the processes/reporting required to ensure software compliance, hardware tracking/retirement, proactive identification of support renewals and lease expirations to enable the Director of Procurement to effectively negotiate and/or identify alternatives. The Asset Manager I will also serve as the liaison for vendor software audits and will be responsible for ensuring remediation if necessary . Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required
  • 2+ years' experience in IT Asset Management required
  • CITAM certification preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with ServiceNow a plus
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task
  • Sense of urgency
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills

  • Familiar with technologies used to gather data for compliance activities, including ServiceNow, SCCM and other third-party tools preferred
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the life cycle of all IT assets from procurement to disposal using multiple data sources including ServiceNow, SCCM, and other third-party monitoring tools
  • Gather detailed hardware and software inventory information
  • Maintain policies, standards, processes, systems and measurements that enable the organization to manage the IT Asset Portfolio with respect to risk, control, and compliance as established by the business
  • Manage the request and approval processes, life cycle, redeployment and disposal of hardware assets including but not limited to:
    • Managing laptop loaner pool
    • Managing evaluation hardware
    • Assuring disposal of hardware complies with e-waste policy by coordinating all related activities
  • Manage the request and approval process for Software asset management using knowledge of OEM licensing and metrics for effective management, control and protection of enterprise wide software assets, throughout all stages of their lifecycle (through IMAC process).
  • Create and maintain repository of purchased low complexity licenses and relevant software contracts
  • Identify and advise management and technical teams on low complexity license entitlements derived from software deployed
  • Manage and administer publisher volume license portals for low complexity licensing by:
    • Managing and distributing license keys
    • Performing user administration task
    • Setting up and managing all MSDN subscriptions
    • Downloading provided installation media, as needed
    • Reconciling with quarterly license statement
  • Control the receipt, identification, storage, and withdrawal of all supported software
  • Oversee all server software asset management activity across the organization to enable collaboration for reducing life cycle cost and risk
  • Provide information on the status of software
  • Monitor and ensure company's continuous compliance with terms and conditions of Software License Agreements to evaluate/analyze licenses, warranties and maintenance inventory and compare to vendor contracts and/or audit results
  • Manage annual True-Up for Microsoft Enterprise Agreements
  • Coordinate the collection of installation data for the enterprise
  • Develop a by contract true-up analysis for management
  • Coordinate with procurement to provide true-up forms and purchases to Microsoft
  • Implement methods to harvest and reuse licenses
  • Work to minimize inventory investment while avoiding vendor penalties
  • Research various licensing scenarios presented by clients
  • Keep up with manufacturer's changes in product licensing
  • Run discovery scans and interpret data to ensure compliance
  • Evaluate CMDB data and apply to asset management practices
  • Maintain working knowledge of IT asset management best practices, emergent tools, techniques and procedures
  • Evaluate data against software license agreement and ensure compliance
  • Communicate and understand data request to vendors
  • Initiate internal audits to ensure compliance and coordinate software retirement
