Job Description

We are looking for an accomplished product leader with expertise in the Payments and Risk area to lead Skipify’s growing Payments Product Checkout function. As the Product Owner, you will direct a number of Checkout and eCommerce ecosystem initiatives including payments, risk, advertising and shopping. You will work with cross-functional teams including the seller finances, the buyer experience, infrastructure, 3rd party integrations, and compliance. You will partner closely with the cross-functional to develop a product strategy, translate it into a roadmap, and drive plan execution. You will help create a vision for Skipify’s Payments that will lead us into the future.

We seek a creative product leader comfortable managing a large scope and able to seamlessly partner across the organization: with engineers, research, analytics, design, operations, finance, and others. You are an experienced manager who can build and elevate a team of hardworking Product Managers and Group Product Managers. You are passionate about mentoring and you inspire a dynamic and innovative Product culture.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy and direction for our Checkout - you'll be the driving force behind this innovative product, you'll need to develop a clear picture of where we are going and be able to align the team to get it done.

  • Understand intimately what our customers are expecting, through both qualitative and quantitative means. Always staying on top of the rest of the industry (and e-commerce at large).

  • Work with the rest of the business and the leadership team to understand and define our strategic opportunities and set our priorities, and translate them to both the short term (user stories and sprints) and long term (epics); you define the product and the roadmap.

  • Manage the backlog of high-integrity product commitments for the services you own to ensure delivery. You help to conceive the features, write the requirements, manage the build and implementation, and make sure it delights our users.

  • Build a water-tight process for getting things done and delivering on our goals; if there’s something we should be doing then make it happen.

  • Always being up to date on the latest technologies, our tech stack and changes in our industry. You want to be on the cutting edge.

  • Making sure our Checkout is a great platform to build upon - you're responsible for making sure that our users love every minute of their time here.

  • Drive OKRs and set critical metrics; clearly define requirements, goals, and success criteria for squad leaders and their teams.

  • Relentlessly prioritize and focus your on development that addresses top opportunities, benefit Skipify’s members and overall business.

  • Create strong relationships with partners and other parts of the business, to make sure payments supports Skipify’s overall strategy and success.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Product Management Lifecycle (Product Framing, Planning, Ideation and Prototyping)

  • Proven experience in implementing market and customer research, data analysis and synthesis aspects of the Product Discovery process

  • Well versed in assessing risks and testing product Value, Usability, Viability and Feasibility

  • Thorough and strong understanding of the ecommerce (AdTech, SaaS, MarTech, Risk) and digital payments industry and experience with payments regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Passion for solving complex, multi-sided marketplace payments problems, developing strategies and roadmaps, and executing plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience defining product metrics, using them to drive decisions, and pairing that with a sense for how and when to balance data with intuition

  • Customer empathy and curiosity to learn more

  • Natural collaboration and communication skills with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad, diverse organization

  • Experience working in e-commerce, retail, two-sided marketplaces is a plus.
