Position Overview:The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge.Qualifications:Education / Certifications /Licensure: Graduate of a school of nursing.
Current California RN licensure or interim permit to practice registered nursing.
BLS - Healthcare Provider required.
Experience : Recent ICU experience.Knowledge : Demonstrate basic medical/surgical nursing skills. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrate basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population is preferred.Skills :
Self-directed in coordinating the care plan for patient care delivery.
Completion of hospital orientation the RN must be able to:
Demonstrates skill and knowledge of Accudata.
Demonstrate knowledge of phlebotomy (i.e., venipuncture/capillary puncture).
Demonstrate knowledge of community resources, legal policies relating to patient decisions and outcomes.
Demonstrate skill and knowledge in the use of oxygen/respiratory delivery devices. Demonstrate knowledge of starting peripheral IV lines and pass hospital pharmacy/IV exam. Demonstrate skills in delegation, leadership and team management concepts.
Demonstrate knowledge of the performance standards of other nursing team members.
Demonstrates skill and knowledge of blood transfusions.
Unit specific:Completion of Medical-Surgical Unit orientation.
