Job Description
  • Manage and troubleshoot network and telecommunications infrastructure such as Cisco routers & switches, CUCM, Cisco Unity, VoIP, WebEx, Cisco Jabber, UCCX and other collaboration and network applications as needed.
  • Designs, upgrades, installs and troubleshoots networking collaboration devices and software
  • Knowledge of IP protocols: TCP/IP, SRST, SIP, RTP, Codecs (G.711, G.729)
  • Maintain the integrity of the telecommunications infrastructure hardware as needed to meet SLAs.
  • Implement and monitor security policies & develops documentation standards and procedures.
  • Provisions and supports existing telecommunications infrastructure in a Cisco Collaboration environment.
  • Monitor connectivity and performance of system performance at remote sites.
  • Utilize and monitor networking tools (Fluke, NetFlow, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime & DNA) to maintain SLAs.
  • Maintain and update documentation, execute firmware and patch deployment to network devices.
  • Review event logs, packet captures, etc. to review as needed to execute root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work with Service Desk ticketing system in supporting trouble tickets.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 4 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 4 Years – Experience in Position
    • experience may include a combination of work experience and education
  • List if any travel is required using percentage of time:
    • 25% - on average travels 1 week out of the month
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 6 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 6 Years – Experience working in Position

Additionally, the Network Engineer is expected to demonstrate:
  • Cisco TelePresence – remote network/voice set up and installation – Cisco smartboards
  • Cisco Finesse – call routing automation – set up and install
  • Codec
  • Centralized shipping office – call center in Europe - Currently, we only have a small infrastructure footprint at that office – firewall, switches and wireless APs. This engineer would have a say on developing this site to accommodate growth and high availability.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience and background in the relevant The ability to stay abreast of emerging technologies and adapt / apply them to changing business environments. Includes the ability to educate oneself on technologies through not only formal training, but self-study and research. Includes the ability to foster strong vendor and partner relationships.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues quickly; Emphasis on troubleshooting ability and problem resolution for application and telecommunications issues. Previous experience with network monitoring tools is preferred.
  • Project Management Skills, Time-Management Skills and Documentation Skills: The ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks / projects simultaneously. Includes information organizational skills, design drawing and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to all levels of technical staff, end-user communities, and various levels of management.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching Technologies (IOS CLI Adds/Moves/Changes)
  • Converged Network Concepts
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies including BGP, EIGRP, Fiber, CAT6, DMVPN and MPLS.
  • Must be able to work independently, be resourceful and process oriented.

Certification/License:
  • Required: CCNA
  • Preferred: CCNP Collaboration

Education
  • Minimum Required:
    • Associate's Degree in Telecommunications Management, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Management, related field, or equivalent work experience
