Position Summary Coordinates data management operations, training, and quality assurance activities relating to the multi-center research projects for which City of Hope is the data coordinating center, including research and database development. Supervises the work of the Consortium Clinical Research Assistant. Coordinates Principal Investigator meetings and data management training for the sites. Anticipates and successfully responds to project growth. Key Responsibilities include:

Administers the activities of divisional and multi-center studies, for some of which CCG is the data coordinating center.

Facilitates communication between collaborating investigators, statisticians, coordinators, data managers and programmers.

Supervises the work of the related team members.

Develops project documents in collaboration with project directors and principal investigators.

Develops and conducts training for staff and coordinators involved in the project.

Establishes audit schedules for consortium data, summarizes audit results, and reports to Principal Investigator.

Ensures timely submission of data from outside centers according to project requirements in collaboration with Statistical Programmer and Statisticians.

Ensures the review of data submitted from outside centers for completeness and consistency in collaboration with the consortium staff.

Supervises quality assurance activities.

Maintains current and accurate data base documentation; notifies investigators of pertinent data base changes.

Oversees daily operations of project.

Identifies and communicates important study and management issues or problems areas to Director and appropriate project staff.

Works closely with division functional area leaders to allocate, manage, and monitor the progress of the project.

Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to maintain certification and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

Ensures work environment is organized and functions efficiently.

Attends meetings and participates on committees as required.

Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

QualificationsBasic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

Master’s Degree-experience may substitute for minimum education requirements

Must have five years clinical research experience

Must have three years’ experience in project administration

Ability to design and implement systems that integrate data

Strong background in database management

Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish

Preferred education experience and skills:

Certified Clinical Research Associate

Multi-center research projects experience

Expertise in Health Care Policy, Administration, Public Health or Health Services Research
