Seeking a high-caliber, seasoned Agile Transformation program manager to lead Agile adoption of standard agility practices across the organization. In this role, you will be part of an Agile Program Management Organization, responsible for the plan and execution of the agile transformation including, content creation, training plans, train the trainer programs and will work with product business owners, Product Managers, System Architects, Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, and others to lead and optimize the flow of value the product delivers. You will mentor and support all areas of the product using metrics and tools to ensure performance visibility.

  • Lead through influencing – build consensus across complex multi-functional teams to drive desired business outcomes.
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative, continuously improving delivery culture.
  • Teach or mentor less experienced employees in modern Agile concepts, values, principles, and practices.
  • Work with others to assess and then decide what methodology (or a mix of methodologies), organizational structure, governance, capabilities, and resources are best to reach the program goals.
  • Ensure program documentation drives clarity, alignment on what needs to be done, why, and what teams do what and when – whether you’re the author or not.
  • Identify and surface any bottlenecks and impediments that could slow the program’s momentum.
  • Communicate the program’s health, risks, issues, progress, achievements, and failures to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Support teams through their quarterly planning: identify and address dependencies, help teams define scope and schedules, and coordinate release planning.
  • Facilitate decision-making around changes to project scope, timeline, quality, and cost.
  • Enable continuous improvement, ensuring findings are captured, shared, and integrated.
  • Educate cross-functional teams on lean and agile principles
  • Facilitate the definition of transformation outcomes with senior leadership.
  • Implement and augment transformation roadmap
  • Lead various workshops such as Value Stream Identification workshops, Value Stream mapping workshops
  • Participate in the selection and launch of team of teams
  • Onboard new coaches into the organization
  • Conduct kick-off and readiness assessment with agile teams and ART
  • Oversee and implement an engagement model with agile coaches deployed to new teams.
  • Engage with leadership to ensure objectives are met and quality coaching is delivered.
  • Partner with the Learning organization on trainings, workshops and experience for different maturity models.
  • Provide regular updates on the adoption of Lean/Agile principles @Zeiss
  • Be the Agile Champion by promoting and growing the ART’s agile capabilities
  • Acts as single voice for software releases to assure engineering deliverables are meeting the needs of the business goals
  • Plans and facilitates ART ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Sync, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops
  • Cultivate Communities of Practice to strengthen skills and encourage knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by ensuring the synthesis and alignment of the ART vision and roadmap through cadence-based feature prioritization, estimation, and grooming.

CORE SKILLS:

  • 8+ years working with software development projects (knowledge of hardware and software)
  • 5+ years of work as an Agile RTE (Release Train Engineer) and/or a Scrum Master
  • 1+ years as a Program Manager in any Program Manager role. They want a hands-on, tech-savvy manager
  • SAFe experience (SAFe is Scaled Agile Framework. This helps large organizations using Agile manage challenges)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

DESIRED:
  • A SAFe certification is a plus
  • Medical device experience is a strong plus
