to join the Health Product and Innovation team to facilitate the delivery of inspired solutions that change the way healthcare is delivered.As the Principal Solution Strategist, you will be reporting to the Director of Product Strategy and Innovation, and you will be responsible for:Leading the definition and development of the Health solution strategy for existing and emerging products to drive market value, differentiation, and penetration, including preliminary product positioning, launch and segmentation strategy. As part of a cross-functional team, you will work directly with product strategists, product managers, UI/UX designers, solution architects, and engineers, including strategic partners to align problems to solutions and turn ideas into reality.

About the Work:
  • Lead the product ideation and initial discovery process, with Product Strategy and stakeholder input including:
o Contributing to and decomposing innovative product ideaso Managing product ideation process, tools, governance, and facilitation through to product roadmap planningo Developing new strategies and pitches with business stakeholders of products and solutions through research, appropriate design techniques, and methodologieso Leading business case development/ROI analysis, feasibility, price modeling to provide new product recommendations to management
  • Lead the market research, competitive analysis, and investment strategy and related frameworks to drive prioritization of emerging products, buy/build decisions, product increment planning, and related strategies (EMR, vendor, partnership, mobile, etc.).
  • Develop and manage high level charters, business requirements and roadmaps to position emerging health technologies for movement through the product management and development lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with leadership, product management, and product design to integrate emerging health technologies into existing healthcare delivery and payment models.
  • Identifies opportunities to deliver emerging technologies outside of current healthcare delivery and payment models.
  • Supports the management and tracking of product/vendor performance and adoption of implemented technology products.
  • Manage the vendor strategy and roadmap for ongoing build/buy evaluations.
  • Drives business development activities – building partnerships with startups, universities, and technology organizations.
  • Develops and coordinates close partnerships with peers and leadership of key Health Partners, including BSC HCQA, Innovation, and IT; California Medical Association; Brown and Toland; Clinical Services and Health Monterey Clinics, plus other key partners to solicit input and support for initiatives, gather research, and coordinate pilot programs and innovation experiments.
  • Lead the development of complex analyses using primary and other research to inform strategy initiatives, (customer, competitor, industry, network, claims etc.).
  • Investigate and coordinate emerging health technologies, experimental pilot projects, and investment opportunities pipeline with support from Product Management, Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Finance, etc.
  • Support the management of third-party contracts, relationships, terms, and performance as appropriate.
  • Present products and services solution concepts to key stakeholders within Health and Clinical Services.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the company within area of expertise.
  • May direct the work of other individual contributors and/or act as a cross-functional team lead.
  • Keeps a pulse on digital health market trends and emerging and evolving technologies.
  • Maintains a keen understanding of broader consumer and market trends.

The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring:
  • 8-10 years of experience in Strategic Product Management, Management Consulting, Technology Strategy or Entrepreneurship, and relevant management experience.
  • Requires a BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Health, Informatics, or Information Technology.
  • Graduate degree (e.g., MBA) is highly desirable.
  • Experienced with product development/ ownership and guiding the product lifecycle from requirements to prototyping and impact measurement.
  • Has advanced knowledge and skills including technical or functional expertise, business acumen, financial analysis skills, risk management, delegation skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Experienced in pitching complex concepts, ideas, and solutions for products to a wide range of audiences.
  • SME knowledge of healthcare product management and/or new product development.
  • Previous management consulting experience is highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of the healthcare industry – care delivery, reimbursement, and clinical systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and forecast future revenue streams over several years.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurially spirited and visionary, who is unafraid of being a trailblazer.
  • The ability to compartmentalize problems and ideas into achievable and strategic solutions.
  • A natural facilitator who can lead design-thinking sessions.
  • Knowledge of current trends in digital health products and services, emerging and evolving technologies, and software development methodologies.
