Description SAIC is seeking a Senior/SME to join our dynamic, El Segundo, CA based team. SAIC is seeking a Space Command and Control (C2) Senior Cybersecurity Network Architect supporting the Horizon 2 contract for SMC/ECX and the U.S. Space Force. This role requires a blend of technical expertise with excellent communication skills. The position shall apply expert level architecture, design and engineering knowledge to provide a truly global enterprise security solution to the Space Force's private cloud data center and network environment. The well qualified candidate will possess a mastery of Data Center and LAN/WAN security solutions to include: servers, routers, switches, and advanced firewalls. The candidate must have strong experience and proven capabilities in developing and deploying next generation network security solutions focused on the concepts of Zero Trust and micro-segmentation. The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk assessments, and recommending changes affecting the private cloud data center and network transport architecture and design. The position directly supports SMC/ECX on-site and advises & assists the SMC/ECX customer in the management of their Data Center contractors. The successful candidate is expected to have an in-depth knowledge of data center operations, be able to identify and mitigate current data center issues, and create strategic plans that focus on expanding data center operations. The successful candidate will represent the team and the customer at various configuration and requirements boards and must have strong presentation skills. The candidate must be proficient in using multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc. The candidate will write and edit technical documentation, create and review standard operating procedures and presentations, and review other technical documentation for impacts to the space, power, and cooling resources available within the data center.

Responsibilities include:

  • Works directly with the SMC/ECX customer to architect, design, and build a global enterprise security solution for a private cloud data center and LAN/WAN environment.
  • Assist SMC/ECX in the development of global Network Security Architecture
  • Develop and deploy network security solutions in compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs on enterprise wide solutions, participate in technical working groups, and contribute to technical advisory boards.
  • Documenting network infrastructure components, drawings.
  • Assist in developing and documenting procedures and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience
  • Expert experience with network platforms: servers, routers, switches, and advanced firewalls.
  • Experience implementing automated Infrastructure as Code/GitOps approaches to networking hardware and server/cloud deployments, upgrades, patches and configuration changes.
  • Strong understanding of analyzing network traffic flows to identify and isolate network threats.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security solutions.
  • Experience with developing and deploying perimeter security solutions in on-premise, private cloud, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Experience implementing large enterprise/global network solutions.
  • Expert experience in network transport technologies and protocols.
  • Experience working directly with Government customer
  • Technical writing and documentation/diagram skills (MS Visio/MS Word/MS Excel)
  • Bachelor degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline
  • 10+ years IT security/network engineering support experience
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a US "TOP SECRET/SCI" security clearance, a current SSBI with SCI eligibility is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services
  • Masters or PhD in related IT field
  • Certified Data Center Professional
