The selected applicant will serve as a key member of the systems integration team leading the development, execution, and integration of advanced communication systems. This position is for a technical role within an integrated program office of Air Force, Aerospace, and SE&I contractors. This role will require working closely with multiple contractors, program offices, external agencies, and mission partners.What You'll Be Doing- Engage in a critical systems engineering role across a diverse, multi-segment enterprise
- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on communication technology applications
- Assess and advise satellite communication system architectures and perform technical feasibility analyses
- Facilitate technical continuity across key internal/external stakeholders
- Coordinate relevant Aerospace Engineering & Technology Group (ETG) program support and keep management informed of ETG contributions
- Establish and maintain the confidence and trust of the government customer
- Work integrally and effectively with the government program office team and staff from external organizations
- This position is a full-time position for onsite work at our El Segundo campus
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or closely related field from an accredited university
- 8 or more years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in engineering/scientific areas related to digital communications systems, satellites, and/or space systems engineering
- Experience presenting results, concepts, and technical content to internal customers, external customers and stakeholders possessing diverse technical backgrounds
- A proven ability to take initiative and lead teams
- Experience building and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships with internal and external organizations such as customer, Aerospace, contractors, or related
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances
- Willing to travel domestically (approximately 20%)
- All "minimum requirements" for Project Engineer listed above as well as the following:
- 12 or more years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in engineering/scientific areas related to digital communications systems, satellites, and/or space systems engineering
- Experience with coordinating matrixed engineering support and/or technical subject matter experts (e.g. ETG personnel)
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or closely related field from an accredited university
- Active program clearance for the Space Force's Advanced Communications Division
- Experience with MILSATCOM systems integration
- Understanding of mission assurance processes
- Proficient with DoD acquisition processes
