Through close coordination with key U.S. departments and agencies, the GP team brings space systems expertise to develop space cooperation with international partners and commercial entities that enhances the U.S. DoD space architecture's effectiveness and resiliency.In this opportunity you will serve as the technical advisor to the government's Space Systems Command (SSC) Satellite Communication (SATCOM) and Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT) team, providing systems engineering expertise and leadership of allied acquisition efforts, collaborating with stakeholders by working closely and effectively with various Aerospace and USG organizations, the existing and future MILSATCOM and PNT programs of record, and foreign governments.Due to customer requirements, this is an in office only position.What You'll Be Doing- Provide technical direction and recommendations to USG customers on identifying and developing international partnerships and agreements to integrate into US DoD space systems architecture
- Leverage your technical acumen and soft-people skills to develop international space armaments to strengthen alliances, deter aggression, and expand enterprise capability, capacity, and resilience
- Deliver space systems acquisition expertise and leadership of allied acquisition efforts through collaboration with stakeholders across various Aerospace and USG organizations, the SSC programs of record, and allied governments
- Give advice and guidance regarding directives, policies, and regulations for government international agreements, facilitate Aerospace and customer application of the Arms Export Control Act and implementation of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) for armaments cooperation, export control, technology transfer and foreign disclosure
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Aerospace, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Electrical, Computer, etc.) or a related technical field
- Eight or more years of relevant experience
- Ability to work closely with senior government management and guide senior leaders on space systems acquisition, design, or production through engineering presentations, informal discussions, and courses of action decisions
- Experience in space systems acquisition, design, production, and architectural experience
- Possess initiative, persistence, and ability to self-organize and accomplish work
- Willing to travel domestically/internationally approximately 25%
- This position requires a current and active SECRET security clearance and an ability to obtain a TS/SCI with a polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Meets minimum requirements for Project Engineer
- Twelve or more years of relevant experience
- Proven capability to work closely with senior government management and guide senior leaders on space systems acquisition, design, or production through engineering presentations, informal discussions, and courses of action decisions
- Experience with multiple mission areas across the SSC portfolio, including SATCOM, remote sensing/early warning (SDA, MW/MT), Space C2, PNT, as well as a background in software, cyber, and/or ground system integration
- Previous technical and acquisition experience in SATCOM & PNT mission areas as well as background in software, cyber and/or ground system integration
- Prior experience in working the Arms Export Control Act, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), export control, technology transfer, and foreign disclosure matters and/or in supporting international armaments cooperation agreements
- Active Top Secret security clearance with special access controls (e.g., SCI, SAP)
