The Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions team is passionate about integrating a large portfolio of digital technologies across the USSF enterprise to provide near term solutions to our customer's pressing information system challenges. The Cyber Defense Department is tasked with supporting the government team in developing groundbreaking cyber methods to defend both our ground and space assets from cyber attacks. The Director positions is a managerial and technical leadership position guiding and crafting Aerospace's support to this effort.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading and shaping a matrixed department of about twelve Aerospace people that delivers engineering support to the Defensive Cyber Program Office customers
  • Be the central hub for various government program office leaders, coordinating support activities like testbeds, software and algorithms, and evaluating and mentoring teammates through cyber challenges
  • Duties include hiring team members and managing all the projects that are being funded out of that program office. This will include developing a growth strategy to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team while managing a STE budget that supports different government customers
  • This a key position with potential to shape both the Space Force thinking and future corporate activities in cyber defense. This role requires a dynamic abilities ranging from understanding cybersecurity and its technical challenges to being able to have phenomenal people and managerial skills to effectively run development teams

Some telecommuting is possible depending on the needs of the customer.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors in an Engineering related subject area
  • Direct experience in of cyber security technologies including monitoring and response systems
  • First-hand knowledge in software development, cloud deployments, and IT systems
  • Proven track record of building software and system deployment teams that deliver within budget and on time
  • Understanding of government accreditation processes and the integration of cyber security into government acquisitions and development processes
  • Experience in recruiting and hiring cyber security professionals
  • Space TT&C systems knowledge
  • Ability to travel once every two months
  • 12 Years of related experience, preferably including in government information systems
  • Current Top Secret Clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

  • Previous management experience
  • Understanding of Spacecraft Architectures and Ground Systems
  • Experience with USSF practices and acquisition processes
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to use machine learning and artificial intelligence for cyber defense

Grade-Based Pay Range

(Min - Mid - Max)$117,027 - $192,281 - $267,534
