The Electronics and Sensors Division (ESD) is a world-class engineering and scientific leader in electronics and remote sensing systems. Our staffin the Parts, Materials & Processes (PM&P) Departmentincludes subject matter experts across a broad rangeof areas pertaining toelectrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts procurement, qualification, application, anomaly resolution, as well as materials and processes.Our expertisecombined withasophisticated in- h ouse electronic componentlaboratorydeliver innovativeanalysisandPM&P program management capabilities to national space systems and civil customers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform independent verification and validation of contractor's selection of materials & processes for electronics packaging and assembly
  • Utilize common root cause analysis methods , and results from lab equipment , to determine root cause and corrective actions for nonconformities related to electronics packaging and assembly

  • Perform reliability risk assessments to facilitate parts, material , and processes control board decisions for nonconformities
  • A dvise management and customers on selection and use of emerging technologies in this area
  • Collaborate with management, customer, contractor, and/or component supplier personnel during analysis
  • Mentor (virtual and/or in-person) less experienced team members and serve as role model

What You Need to be Successful

MinimumRequirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or another appropriate discipline
  • Eight years of increasingly responsible and related engineering/scientific experience
  • Proficiency in related industry standards (e.g., IPC J STD 001, MIL PRF 38534 , , etc. and related requirements in standards such as MIL STD 1580 , MIL STD 883 )

  • Excellent communication skills to concisely provide advice to customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and collaborative applications (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence , MS Teams, Zoom )
  • Willing to travel [ domestically/internationally] approx.25%of time
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain aTS/SSBIsecurityclearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can StandOut

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or another appropriate discipline
  • Twelve or more years of experience inelectronic component failure analysis
  • Experience collaborating with contractors, industry working groups, and/or associations such as NASA Electronics Parts Assurance Group, Defense Logistics Agency, Joint Electron Device Engineering Council, IPC , during the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of active electronic parts for space-related applications]

  • Project managementskillsin applications such as MS Project, Jira, etc.

Grade-Based Pay Range

(Min - Mid - Max)$123,000 - $136,500 - $150,000
