DescriptionSAIC is seeking a
Configuration Analyst to join our team of diverse GPS Systems Engineering and
Integration (SE&I) experts. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized
engineering, analysis, operations support and subject matter expertise to the
GPS Directorate. The team also provides systems engineering and analysis
services to include system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition,
testing, operations and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities.
Finally, team members provide an enterprise perspective for identification and
review of risks and risk mitigation plans and work to institutionalize systems
engineering best practices across the GPS Directorate. Major duties of this
position include:
Support Air Force Global Positioning System (GPS)Program Office’s Systems Engineering (SE) Configuration Management (CM) insupport of creating/managing the GPS specification and interface controldocuments.
Reviews specifications, and interfaces to determinedocumentation and material requirements, ensure compliance withengineering specifications, and to ensure engineering changes reflectlatest requirements.
Analyzes proposed changes in product design todetermine effect on documents such as specifications, Interface ControlDocuments (ICDs) and ensures all documents have required approvals.
Compiles release packages ensuring all documentation ispresent.
Notifies appropriate departments of any new or updateddata. Maintains audit trails. Researches and resolves inconsistencies withchange request records.
Plans and coordinates preparation of projectdocumentation, such as Request-For-Change (RFC), production specificationsand schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contractrequirements are met
Reviews contract to determine documentation requiredfor each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturingprocesses
Analyzes proposed changes to the Technical Baseline todetermine effect on overall product and system
Establishes change request and prepares for changeauthorization and documentation
Reviews and analyzes released engineering change dataand coordinates changes with engineering
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree. Experience willbe accepted in lieu of degree.
Current DoD Secret SecurityClearance
6+ years of relevant configurationmanagement (CM) experience
Demonstrated understanding of the CMdisciplines and the SystemsEngineering process
Strong written and verbalcommunication skills, including public speaking
Excellent organizational skills andattention to detail
Ability to work independently and ina dynamic team environment
Experience working directly withcustomers
Proficiency with Microsoft Officeproducts (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering,Computer Science or Mathematics
Proficient with TopVue, SharePointor Livelink
CM Professional certification (e.g.,CMPIC)
