Job Summary

The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

As the Mission Assurance Team Propulsion Senior Project Leader, you will lead a team of launch vehicle liquid and solid propulsion technical experts to perform independent risk assessments for National Reconnaissance Office / Office of Space Launch (NRO/OSL missions. This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA with remote consideration .

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the Mission Assurance Team Propulsion Panel to provide technical risk assessments for NRO missions
  • Manage resources and tasking to evaluate complex technical launch vehicle issues
  • Provide expertise on propulsion, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Actively network with contractors, government agencies, and other Aerospace organizations to support MAT risk assessments
  • Brief technical issues to management in support of launch readiness

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • BS degree in Engineering or Science
  • 12 years of progressively more responsible engineering experience
  • 10 years experience in launch vehicle propulsion systems
  • Proven ability to organize and lead a team of technical experts
  • Experience working with DOD customers, contractors, and/or FFRDC teams
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. 25% and to work off-business hours to support customer needs (as required)
  • This position requires a Current Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access, w hich is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Science
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with senior Aerospace, Air Force, and contractor leadership
  • Current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph
