Whether on the ground or in space, all reside within the domain of Network Systems Department. The department delivers in all aspects of systems, from architectures, requirements, and design through to implementation, our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient network systems. Work ModelHybrid: This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required in El Segundo, CA.What You'll Be Doing- Utilizing network testbeds and modeling and simulation tools to investigate new technologies and assess system performance
- Assist in the development and maintenance of network modeling, simulation, and visualization tools. Develop new and novel ways of conducting network analysis
- Develop modeling and simulation scenarios and configurations in support of various customer mission and research-focused network analyses
- Supporting network design and performance analysis of various areas including Software Defined Networks and Cloud, network resiliency, and network security
- Performing applied research and innovation in advanced space networking areas including Named Data Networking, Mesh Networking and 5G IoT
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- At least 1 year of industry work experience
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts, network analysis methods and tools, network protocols
- Programming experience in one or multiple of the following languages: Python, C, Java
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience in any of the following areas: network testbed development, data analysis and visualization software tool usage and/or development
- Experience using network simulation and/or emulation tools (e.g. OPNET, Qualnet/Exata, NS3, Mininet, etc.)
- Technical background in communication networks
- Knowledge or experience in optical/laser communications
- Knowledge or experience in system virtualization or containerization (e.g. VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Proficiency in multiple software languages, specifically Python, C, or Java
