This team consists of 8 professionals based in El Segundo, CA. This team is responsible for the balance sheet and intercompany transaction process. This position is responsible for preparation of monthly consolidated balance sheet schedules. Preparation of these schedules includes detailed analysis of account balances, investigating & understanding fluctuations and ensuring account balance accuracy. Schedules will be provided to management to assist with their analysis of company operations. Schedules will be included for use in press releases and for SEC reporting purposes. Additionally, this position requires assistance with intercompany reporting/transactions on a monthly basis.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAccount analysis and preparation of detailed management schedules.Intercompany analysis and journal entries.Communication (verbal & written) with various Company departments, including international employees.Preparation of monthly detailed consolidated balance sheet analytics for select accounts.Resolving account balance differences, including posting correcting journal entries in PeopleSoft and/or HFM.Analyzing and understanding international account balances in their local currency, as well as USD.Preparation and organization of financial packages submitted to Company management.Preparation of schedules included in SEC filings, including 10Ks and 10Qs.Helps accommodate certain external auditors’ requests during quarterly reviews and year-end audits.Research accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION and EXPERIENCEEducation - Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferably in accounting) and a minimum of four years of related accounting experience.CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSESnone.Communication Skills - Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal customers or management. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers or other internal customers.Financial Knowledge – Strong accounting knowledge. Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Requires strong analytical and quantitative skills.Other Skills and/or Abilities – Outstanding interpersonal skills. Handles multiple tasks, while meeting all deadlines. Team oriented with strong work ethic. Willing to take on new responsibilities. Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint). Very strong knowledge of Excel is preferable. Knowledge of consolidation software (Peoplesoft, Hyperion and/or equivalent software) is preferred.
