Find your future with us.Boeing is currently seeking a Senior Space Simulation Test Technician to join the team in El Segundo, CA.Senior Space Simulation Test Technicians assist engineers and senior technicians in the testing, operation and troubleshooting of equipment that simulates, measures and gauges environmental conditions of upper atmosphere/outer space.Position Responsibilities: Determines test methods; selects equipment; develops sequence of operations; fabricates, sets up, troubleshoots, and performs environmental testing on flight space systems. Utilizes knowledge of testing methods including, but not limited to, the following: cryogenics, vacuum technology, fluid mechanics, vibration control systems, pyroshock/shock, acoustics, closed loop heater control, data acquisition, instrumentation, test fixture assembly, precision fabrication and assembly. Evaluates test data to make real time test decisions in order to avoid test article systems/component damage and minimize test delays. Accountable for accuracy, quality, and timely completion of moderately complex technical assignments. Good written and verbal communication, and computer skills are used to complete assignments. Occasional work at heights from man lifts and/or ladders. Must be able to lift or assist in lifting.The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, based on seniority.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.Candidate must be willing to work any shift and overtime, including weekends and holidays, as required to support test schedules.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Minimum 1 year of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools Minimum 1 year of experience working with standard measuring tools such as rulers, tape measures, scales, etc. Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and proceduresPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Basic computer knowledgeSecurity Clearance and Export Control Requirements:This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Relocation:This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.
